Dan discusses The Woman in Black - Hero Complex interview

Daniel recently talked about the fact of why he choose to take the main role in The Woman in Black.
“Working is how I will best get through a very weird time,” Radcliffe said. “I know it’s the most constructive thing I can do because otherwise I’d be moping around and being a bit like, ‘Oh, I miss everyone ... ’ So I'm quite pleased to go on to the next thing and the next challenge.”
“When I met first met James Watkins, our director, he told me about a quote of Stanley Kubrick’s, which was that all films about the afterlife or ghosts are innately consoling,” Radcliffe said. “I think there’s something about that that is very true to our story. While it is a horror story and it is very frightening, it’s also about loss and grief. I read it on a plane, and I don’t know what the people around me must have thought. I kept jumping and gasping...” “It worries me, but the challenge is to look like a dad and a young father. If I get that right, that is something that immediately separates me from Harry,” Radcliffe said. “The script is so good and the characters are so clear, there is actually reduced pressure on me to be constantly ‘different,’ if you know what I mean; in other words, once people are into the story, they’ll be watching this really compelling movie and will stop — I hope — thinking about me.”

about Hammer Films (has a history in horror-film making)

It does bring a smile to my face, and it’s an absolutely genuine smile,” Radcliffe said. “Hammer is the company that everybody wants to see succeed. It’s such a part of our film heritage. It was a massive producer of films in its heyday — they were really prolific, there were tons of them — and with actors like Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. It’s wonderful to see that company, that name, in a resurgence.”

Daniel apologizes for Comic-Con, talks birthday and more

Daniel spoke to the LA Times earlier today, apologising for his notable absence at Comic-Con, where a clip from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows premiered, and discussed the fun time he had in Russia for his 21st birthday this weekend, as well as how he and Harry Potter costars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were in tears on the last day of filming Deathly Hallows.
I apologize to all the wishful thinkers for my disappointing non-presence," Radcliffe said."Really? Oh, God, I had no idea. I suppose it's like when I'm at Reading Festival I hear that suddenly some amazing band is going to play a surprise gig and then it turns out to be total fiction." "It was fantastic. I was in St. Petersburg for my birthday, which is probably the most beautiful, the most incredible, wonderful place I've ever been in my life. It really is absolutely amazing. I went with two friends and it was brilliant."

"You know what, I'd love to libel him and call it a lie, but, darn, he's absolutely right. We all three of us -- me, Rupert and Emma -- we just wept. And I've never seen Rupert Grint cry. That was really weird." "I've never done the Comic-Con thing," Radcliffe said, "and I really, really want to experience that."

Happy Birthday Daniel!

I hope he has a great day! 21! without him this site wouldn't excist. Daniel, continue to be the great actor and we know you will have a great carreer ahead of you! Plus do you all like the new lay-out? I'm still editing some things, but we have now elite affiliates and even some new sections.

Updated: Dan to star in The Woman in Black

There has been information surfaced that Daniel will be starring into the supernatural thriller The Woman in Black. A new film adaptation of Susan Hill. The story encompasses the journey of a young attorney (whom Dan would assume to portray if the casting rumour is true), Arthur Kipps, who travels to the home of a deceased client in order to retrieve their papers. While in the client's house, he becomes privy to their secrets, and finds himself in the presence of the mysterious and titular woman in black. If we have more, you read it here.

Update: Hammersmith Films is saying that they are "looking into it" according to Dan involving. And the tweet is removed, so we maybe should see it as a rumor for now..
Update2: Dan has confirmed into a press release that he is going to star in The Woman in Black! Here are quotes from Dan and director James Watkins.
“’When I met Dan, it was quite uncanny how closely our thoughts on the story mirrored each other: I can’t wait to get down to work with him to fashion a compelling character and a classy ghost story that tugs at the heart and chills to the bone,” says James Watkins.

Simon Oakes continues, “We’re thrilled to have Daniel on board, I can think of no better actor to play the role of Arthur Kipps. I’m confident that under the direction of James Watkins, he’ll take Jane Goldman’s script and deliver an utterly intense and compelling performance.”

Daniel Radcliffe said, “I am incredibly excited to be part of The Woman In Black. Jane Goldman’s script is beautifully written – both tender and terrifying in equal measure. It is thrilling to be working with James Watkins. From his brilliant work on Eden Lake and also having met him and heard his vision for the film, I know he will make a fantastic film.”
